Located in the Mojave Desert, Valley of Fire State Park derives its name from red sandstone formations (the Aztec Sandstone) which formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago. These features, which are the centerpiece of the park’s attractions, often appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun’s rays.
To me the colors look like sherbert. It would have been a nice treat in the desert sun.
This is the last post for 2021. We will do the year in review video soon. With the colder weather rolling in, we are taking a break from our travels until the weather warms up.

Scott you are so daring, was the boulder comfortable? Certainly did not look comfortable. I was watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics last night and thought about our trip to China. They are in Bejing, brings back alot of memories of wonderful times we spent together.
Be safe,
Love you,
Casper and Glynda
Hi Glynda, Scott is a crazy person. I loved our trip to China. I am so glad we did that when we did, it was perfect. Love you and little Casper.
So beautiful and I do think you both are always out for adventure climbing on cliffs etc. BUT you have taken many beautiful photos from your climbs. If you come to Houston, give me a call and maybe Connie and I could meet you for lunch. Have a nice winter wherever you spend it.
Hi Sue, Love to get your comments. It’s always good to know that you enjoy the pictures and the effort we put on the blog. We don’t expect to be in Houston this year, but our plans are fluid this year due some maintenance issues with the RV and some other business we need to handle. But if our plans change I will text you. Please take care and be safe.
