We were surprised to learn that you can jet ski in New York Harbor. We found it a fun way to see the beautiful landmarks without fighting traffic.
We had a beautiful day with highs in the low 70’s. We wore full dry suites over our clothes to stay warm while traveling at speeds up to 50 mph.

That looked amazing and I’m glad you had nice weather. The next time we are in New York, I definitely want to try it. We are still talking about your visit and were so happy we could get together. I am happy to report that Ava fully committed to GW and going to DC made it happen. The insider stuff we got to see made it 100% clear that this is where she needs to be. We all had happy tears and lots of celebration. If you are looking for recommendations on restaurants when in DC, we love Founding Farmers and our newest favorite place is Oceanaire. Safe travels you two!!
I hope you do try the jet skis. It was a lot of fun. I wish that I had worn gloves for better grip. Congratulations to Ava. I’m so glad she found her place. Good job to you and Mike for raising such a wonderful young lady. We will be going to DC in May with my dad. We found Founding Farmers and agree it is terrific. Oceanaire is a new one and we will check it out when we are there. Enjoyed visiting with you in the burgh. Wish it was more often. Know that we think of you all often. Take care and keep us up to date on what’s doing.
Love the sights. Lady Liberty is always inspiring. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy Delaware.
Love you, Casper and Glynda
Maybe next time we will do a walking tour of NY. Both of us have seen most of the sights but it might be fun to redo. Love to you and Caper.
Wow! That looks like so much fun! Did you have a guide or were you on your own to explore? Your lives are such adventures –
Hi Brenda. We did have a guide, but it was mostly for safety, I think. She buzzed around at warp speed and we tried to follow her closely, but she was a pro. She didn’t give any information about what we were seeing. The jet skis were really loud and would have been hard to hear over. If we could do it again we might just rent the skis without the guide and go at our own pace. Probably cheaper and we could spend the day seeing what we wanted.
What a great way to see NY. I would have never thought of doing the Jet Skis. We saw all we could by walking, and we did take a few tours. I do not think we will visit NY again but I was glad we took the trip and got to see a good play. We will be leaving the end of May to go to Colorado for the summer. I had a knee replacement the end of March and I am doing well. Can walk and knee has good movement , The DR said I was doing great. Still going to PT. I think the car trip to CO will be hard because it is hard to sit a long time with my leg not elevated. We will have to make frequent stops for me to walk around a bit and we plan to make 2 over night stops. We normally just take one stop but that makes a very long travel day. It is great that you are still seeing so many areas of the US. What a great experience this is for you at a young age where you can enjoy everything like hiking, climbing, etc,
Hi Sue. I was thinking about you and Ed and wondering how you both were doing. Glad you are going to escape the heat and go to beautiful CO. Glad your knee replacement went well. I have heard some horror stories about knee replacements gone wrong. So excellent for you.
I can’t take credit for the jet ski idea. We saw it in a movie. Then discovered that regular people can tour NY Harbor. It was a different way to experience NY and NJ. Take care.
