We made a stop in Valentine, Nebraska. It’s a small town (pop. 2760) in the North Central region of the state with a very busy post office in February.
Nearby was a very nice Golf Resort called the Prairie Club. The Prairie Club has both the #41 (Dunes Course) and #88 (Pines Course) top public courses to play in the United States according to Golf Digest. I was fortunate to be able to play the Dunes Course.
We needed something for Catharine to do too, so we took a hike in the nearby Smith Falls State Park. The park straddles the Niobrara National Scenic River and contains Smith Falls, which is the highest waterfall in Nebraska.
Overall, Valentine was a very pleasant surprise and the Prairie Club has definitely made my list of future destinations for a weekend golf trip with friends.

Hi Glynda. We are currently in North Dakota near Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Next we are headed to Montana and Glacier National Park for some hiking and hopefully some nice scenery. Love you, Catharine and Scott.
Oh!! Love little Casper too.
What a beautiful area to visit. Great to do something you each enjoy. My son just sent me some photos from Mackinac Island, Michigan. I am sure you have already visited the island, but if not be sure to put it on your places to visit. What a beautiful and different setting. I guess you have visited most of the states by now. What a wonderful and exciting thing to do and great you can do this while you are young and can enjoy all the outdoor activities. Continue to enjoy and share your great adventures. We all enjoy following you guys. Continue to have a great time, share photos and safe travels.
Hi Sue, Glad you like the pictures. We have not been to Mackinac Island but are planning for next year to visit. Stay healthy and talk soon.
